The Beavers is a social, honorary organization formed, organized and managed by the construction companies and individuals who are or have engaged in heavy engineering construction.

The Beavers was founded in 1955

The purpose of the Beavers is to promote goodwill, friendliness and consideration within the heavy engineering construction industry; to give recognition to those men and women who have demonstrated particular skill, responsibility and integrity; and to encourage and support entry of promising young individuals into heavy engineering construction.

The Beavers hold two major events annually. The Beavers Awards Dinner is held in mid-January, where individuals are recognized with a Golden Beaver Award for their achievements and contributions to the heavy construction industry in the categories of Management, Supervision, Engineering and Service & Supply. See Past Awardees. This is a black-tie event attended by over 2,300 members and guests. A high profile keynote speaker addresses the audience following the award presentations.

On the third Thursday of every August, Beavers members and guests gather at Silverado Resort in Napa, California for a summer social event called the “Beaverdilly”. This tradition began in 1963 to provide a short break during the busy construction season. Over the fifty-six years the Beaverdilly attendance has grown to over 1,600. The event features golf and tennis tournaments, winery tours, other sports activities and both a picnic lunch and dinner. Beavers committee and board meetings are held in conjunction with the event.
